I'm going fishing... Finally!

Post by Lost Pom » Thu Nov 12, 2015 7:04 pm

Hey all! I've not wet a line or contributed anything since February... Disgraceful and frustrating. Anyway, heading down the Island for the weekend and I'm going fishing. Forecast not ideal, bit chilly with a moderate southerly bit I don't care, I'm supposed to be English after all.

Hopefully get out for an hour or two and try and find some bait and set up in the evening with the big rods in one of a couple of spots I've been looking at for a while (beaches.)

If anyone is down that way chasing some bait, throwing some slugs, or just scouting, give me a shout. Same applies for the big bait (if a catch them first!)

10months... I'm chomping at the bit.

Been some awesome reports to catch up on from the usual suspects (and Dezza lately)... Great work, you've been driving me crazy!

Hopefully have something to report soon...

Good luck, the gusty southerlies will make the beaches a bit difficult. The Cleland bight will be protected and out to cape woolamai.
Cast, catch and put it back

If you fish cleeland make sure you have a whiting under a float out there, some good squid to be caught out there.

Likely that a shot at the squid will be my best option atm... See how I go. Always options down the island.

Red Point might be sheltered enough from that wind to be worth checking out.
