well if this mornings temperature was anything to go by, lots of them are probably floating by now

There was some discussion about a user pay system probably a little late though.barra mick wrote:You would think that a plan would be allready in place4liters wrote:people keep talking about this but I haven't seen any kind of official mention of it. Where that is enough to keep it warm enough or not is another question, but we shall see, if nothing else, the Barra will probably all converge on where that water comes in.
Talking abt it after the plant shuts is pretty ordinary
not surprisinglu to the educated but the barra will die very quickly during the winter.rb85 wrote:http://www.latrobevalleyexpress.com.au/ ... t-pondage/
The Tilapia are starting to pass, RIP. The Barra are deep within the Poacher Paul Worstleing David Kramer no early fish zone.
Apparently they have minimal flow from the aquifer at the moment. They are testing the fish tolerance the to minerals in the water. If they are okay, more hot water can be accessed through other aquifers, with the intention to return the temp close to what it was originally. This all depends on how the Barra's cope with the water quality from the aquifer/s.rb85 wrote:Your not wrong BM wonder if the temp near the artesian outlet is enough to keep the population alive.
Is this being done by fisheries and the station operator engine?greggo wrote:Apparently they have minimal flow from the aquifer at the moment. It's Fisheries who are doing the work. They've been using Charlie Carp to catch the Barra using electro-fishing, relocating the caught fish into the heated channel to monitor the impact of the aquifer water quality.rb85 wrote:Is this being done by fisheries and the station operator engine?greggo wrote:Apparently they have minimal flow from the aquifer at the moment.
