Sugarloaf and yarra report 5/4

Post by Milk man » Sat Apr 05, 2014 3:35 pm

Headed out to try and get a few cm's for the species comp.. Headed to sugarloaf first.. After about half a dozen casts I got snagged, couldn't get it off so had to break my line.. Just as I was rigging my SP a school of reddies started busting up about 5 meters away from me.. I quickly got my plastic on and chucked it right into the middle of em, hooked up straight away and landed a 28 cm Redfin who brought in about 10 mates with him lol.. About 100m or so further down I put a cast out between a few trees fairly close together.. Slowly bouncing it off the bottom it got within sight and bugger me if a reddie pushing 50cm wasn't following it in! It took a bite at my plastic almost at my feet but only bit the tail :( .. It still got the adrenaline going though!.. On the way home I hit the yarra at worri yallock, walked up the river about 1.5k's and only saw 2 trout rise so no fish outta the yarra but I did manage to score access to some private property of 100 acres which has alot of yarra river running through it  .. I didn't fish it today but I'll be back there soon to have a go

My one fish for the day lol

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Nice job mate! I would guess that that large fish was a big yellow.
Angling is the name given to fishing by people that can't fish
