I've seen platypus in the diamond creek. Just thought I'd add that haha
Angling is the name given to fishing by people that can't fish

Like I said not planning on writing it off after one session, will certianly be putting on the rotation of local spots to keep trying in the short term.
It does look promising, hoping it is just a case of getting more familiar with it.
Cam - I can't try salt water - I am sure i will rust if i get too close to that stuff

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad

Re: LIVERPOOL ROAD RETARDING BASIN - Kilsyth
Have fished there a few times with mates and never got a bite, but a few months before i ever fished there they had caught some pretty decent carp. I havent fished there in about 6 months since it really died out and can be annoying putting up with peoples dogs coming up and jumping in the water.ChrisD wrote:Just flicking around the local area on Goggle Maps and spots a body of water that I never noticed before.
It is the Liverpool Road retarding Basin in Kilsyth. Does anyone know if it holds fish and is it fishable?
From what i can see on Google maps it looks like another potentuailly carp laden option. Might have to investigate it some time soon, unless anyone has already tried and ruled it out.
PB's (most are estimates no brag mat) Carp 40cm, Redfin 35cm, Silver Trevally 27cm, Eel 1m+, Mullet 25cm, Sand whiting 20cm.
Wish list: Rainbow and Brown Trout, Bigger Redfin, Gummy Shark, Estuary Perch and Snapper

Tried again this morning, worns and corn for bait and flicked out a couple of tassie devils. Not a touch, big zero all up. Starting to doubt there is anything to catch here......might hit the Yarra this evening instead.
