LIVERPOOL ROAD RETARDING BASIN - Kilsyth
Just flicking around the local area on Goggle Maps and spots a body of water that I never noticed before.
It is the Liverpool Road retarding Basin in Kilsyth. Does anyone know if it holds fish and is it fishable?
From what i can see on Google maps it looks like another potentuailly carp laden option. Might have to investigate it some time soon, unless anyone has already tried and ruled it out.

i did a bit of work there in the late 90's and there wasn't much there but there are a couple of small creeks in the area that are "linked" to it in a way and they were full of carp. I'm sure you should be able to pull something out of there, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Just back from a couple of hours there ..... bloody donuts.....that takes me to 14 trips in a row with zero.
great location, lake is a good size, plenty of accessable bank, briliant view of the Dandynongs.
I can't believe there is no fish there, I am just having a very bad run lately. Will have to give it another go at some stage.

I've seen people fishing there while walking the dog...whether that means there is anything worthwhile in there though is another story

try some saltwater mate, less likely to strike out in there, take a day trip to tooradin with the girls and chuck out a heap of burley and use some little bits of prawn for some mullet etc. Keep chucking out burley every 20mins to keep them around!ChrisD wrote:Just back from a couple of hours there ..... bloody donuts.....that takes me to 14 trips in a row with zero.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad
