That's some interesting news, I'm gonna have to get my hiking boots on and go fish... thanks for the info biggar. Always thought there would have to be some good fish there. Any chance you could tip me off on times? like is the morning better or the eveing. as I've found in the yarra the better times to fish are the morning and eveing with the middle of the day not the best.

During winter it doesn't matter as much because the sun isn't too much of an issue. The only times we don't usually catch are between 11-2

In the remote parts of the gorge there's good numbers of Brown trout and occasionally rainbows as well as blackfish, carp, roach, redfin, eels and the odd tench. Odd captures are cod, yellowbelly and maccas

I personally haven't but I know of family members who have got them over the years. But I think these are escapees from dams in flood events. There is no where enough in there to target. Resides, carp and even trout are a better target
