4 species on the yarra today

Post by Travis » Sun Sep 29, 2013 7:44 pm

Hey all, so after arriving home from albury I decided to go fish the yarra in hope of a carp, had two rods out medium rod with scrub worms on 1/0 hook and my trout rod with size 8 hook with scrub worms as well. Within 15 mins had a nice 50cm carp on the bank. Time went by wen I noticed my rod just movin and striked, to my surprise what I thought was a carp ended up being a cod of around 40cm. Cod was never removed from water and swam away perfectly. I then moved to another spot and got a small eel of around 30cm. Next came a macca of round the 25cm mark followed by a much larger eel of the 60cm+ mark. Easy the best ever session iv had there.

Sounds like an excellent session, well done, maybe I should have hit the Yarra instead of Rowville.....Rowville produced donuts.
Good work and again showing the Yarra can certainly offer up a range of fish.

good stuff mate well done. you'd go a long way to catch 4 different species like that in a session! especially a cod.

Well done mate. The eels are definitely on at the moment. I pulled two out the other night, one of them went close to a metre!
If only I could fish more
