I fished plenty river yesterday near Yarrambat.
A couple of other blokes picked up a few carp on corn.
My friend and I managed 8 eels on worms (due to all the rain, hate the bloody things!!) and one small roach on corn soaked in fish oil.
There are redfin in there aswell but haven't caught any in a few weeks.
The further up the river you go, the nicer it gets.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, are roach even a pest like carp and reddies?

I believe they are an introduced species.
To my knowledge roach, redfin and tench can all be released.

Diamond creek and plenty river are both fishing really well. Upper plenty can produce Redfin on celtas with local knowledge. Diamond creek is producing eels and lots of them. Best bet for carp is greensborough to montmerency
Angling is the name given to fishing by people that can't fish
