Yarra this morning

Post by Milk man » Sat Jul 27, 2013 10:52 am

Well shayne and I hit the newly crowned "C Hole" again early this morning. We gave it that name because its a cod spot, a carp spot and its a c*** of a spot to land fish as I found out this morning, I feel for shayne trying to land big fish here by himself haha.. We got there at about 6:20. I had a couple of scrubbies on a running sinker rig and Shayne had a cheese/ scrubbies patternoster double sinker rig lol.. There wasn't any action for about 2 hours when the golden window which seems happen everytime at this spot opened, my rod buckled over.. We both thought it was a cod by the way it took the bait and by the way it was fighting.. Turned out to be a 66 cm carp and it was heavy, we estimated it to be around the 5kg mark.. No other fish caught but we got a fair few decent bites

Very nice carp! I have never seen one that brightly colored before! :-D Does the 'golden window' open around the same time every time you are there? eg. right on daybreak, morning tea time, when you are about to have a pee?
thanks

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Was **** funny trying to land it. Hayden's not kidding, it is the worst fishing spot in history!!
Plenty of fun though. I've been there quite a few times now and only ever came back fishless once, so that's pretty good as a strike rate!
If only I could fish more
