Yarra cod!!!!
Went and had a fish at Warrandyte this morning. Nice way to spend a Friday off. Especially when you land a Murray Cod!! Was first bait in the water. I was actually baiting my other rod when I heard the magic chime of bells... I dropped what I was doing, picked up the ugly stick and struck. Awesome bend and a good fight. Had to scaled my way down some rocks so I could get to somewhere I could land it - all the while still fighting the fish and trying to keep the line away from rocks. Please forgive my dodgy camera work, was by myself and didn't want to keep it out of the water too long. Measured in at about 62cm and safely released. Happy days!! :a_goodjob: :woohoo:
Got a few more tiddler bites afterwards but no fish. Went quiet for about 40 mins so decided to call it a day. Big smile on my face though, well worth getting up early on my day off. :super:

Re: Yarra cod!!!!
Should mention a big thanks to Murlz for the hook (yes mate, same one that caught my first cod - has now been retired to the pool room of the swent) and to SFP Guy. Cam, the bells you gave me alerted me to the live action! unfortunately, in the ensuing madness......they found their way to the bottom of the yarra oh well, a worthy sacrifice I think!!

Good fish Shayne, nice to see it safely released into that slimy Yarra, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
