Yeah, Eels are exciting the first couple. After a few they become a pain. Caught up with Rixter in the Tarago targeting the blackfish the other night. Went to a good spot and bang... big bloody eels again... still chasing the blackfish.

Great fun the eels are huh !!!!..not ..lol. Was good to catch up with you too Mr-Ifish, was a pitty the missus wouldn't bring me out again later that night ( I couldn't drive , I'de had a few ). We didn't leave that spot until nearly 9pm , just as you left and i was about to pack up, fish started coming on the bite !. I got 3 small blackfish, and 2 eels near 9pm, so I packed up and left then.
Alllways the way, you just missed the action , although they were only small backfish , all throwbacks around the 25cm mark.
We will definatly catch up again for a propper full days fishing if you like, nexttime i'm doing my next day outing I will give you a call, which will probably be soon. Cheers mate , Rick.

Yes , the ones around here in gippsland are more of a greenish/olive colour though, with a yellowish belly; compared to the very dark brownish/black eels with the silverbellys down around melbourne way. They are both the same short finned silver belly eel species though.
Cheers , Rick
