I decided to try this spot today!! Some say there's fish some say there isn't the rest say they r there but won't bite!! So I got some corn n worms n headed down! An hour in my worm rod got a solid tap, 20 seconds later it got pulled into the lake (drag wasn't set apparently) since this was my late fathers rod I gave no second thought and jumped in after it!! Luckily enough I found it! I got back on dry land and the fight was on!

Cold winds drenched clothes didn't cross my mind I was keen to see the culprit! I had a small jump about 20m out too far to tell I finally landed it and to my surprise it was a mirror carp n not as big as I thought! I went to grab a photo n realised my phone was in my pocket WAS it fell out as I jumped in!

It went 53cm and just shy of 5lb the pr1ck!! Smokes destroyed phone gonna and the wind was chilling me to the bone (I kept fishing I figured I'd dry) about another hour later another carp on corn (20cm) a few taps after that but nothing else!

A local was there with his kids n said his been there with mates n pulled out 10lb carp so it's official they are in there!!

Also had a jacket in the car so kinda saved myself from a cold!

Nice work work on the carp, next time you'll remember to check your pockets before you jump in. Another good idea is to strip off (Bear grylls style) before you take the plunge so you have some dry clothes to put on after.

Given the the speed the rod flew into the water and the sentimental value it holds I didn't think twice about it! I would be beside myself if I lost that rod I take it most places I fish! I'm lucky to have found it at all as its a decent sized suburban lake

I'm surprised this place isn't more popular. There's definitely Carp in there, although the amount of dogs in the water (from the one time I've been there) was rather annoying.

Oh I had a lot of dogs today too! Nvm the phone I'm off to eden in less than a week saving wages for that.. I Was gonna go to cgm today but it's closed and a long walk if it's closed. I'll be trying to find these 10lb'rs at Liverpool road in some spare time!

Ducks there see u drop bread and swarm in!! Use corn stuff using bread it's a serious nuisance!

Has anyone seen the lake just north of here? Not sure if it's private property or a park but looks fishy

Those carps is bastards......a phone can be replaced Big Gav but not your Dads fishing rod, great rescue.....glad no limbs have dropped off after being in the drink there.....maybe an omen to give up the gaspers....
