Will kick it off with a report from last night...

Hit up my mates dam again. armed with my 2" ZMan Grubz and my new combo, i set out in the tinny hoping for some reddies, and i wasn't disappointed.

1st cast. BANG! onto a little reddy. 2nd cast. BANG! another little reddy. after that it was a fish every few minutes for 20mins and then the bite went quiet with only 1 fish landed within half an hour. it slowly started to pick up again with some more small reddies with a few 30 ish cm with in the mix.

all in all a nice session and good way to top off the weekend.

Cheers Sam

P.S: most photos where to large to be uploaded so only have a few

hit the plenty again tonight after dinner. decided to try a different hole this time. there was a set of mini rapids at the top of the hole where i was fishing. after casting into the hole and no bites i decided to drift some unweighted corn down with the current produced by the rapids, and it worked.
image-26.jpg
i chucked a pinch of corn into the current produced by the rapids for burley and i soon got another fish. this one took me into an overhanging tree that was half submerged in the water due to all the rain. i had to free spool it until it swum itself out and i managed to net it.

this is what the rapids looked like it and you can see at the in the left of the photo the tree it swam into.

after having to retie a new leader and tie a new hook. i soon hooked up again. this third fish fought a lot harder and dirtier then the other 2, it took me through snags and then into the over hanging tree again. after working a bit of magic ( or a magnificent stroke of luck) i managed to free the fish out of the snags, but it wasn't done yet. it took a massive bolt down the pool and through rocks. any second i was expecting my line to ping but fortunately it didn't. i managed to land the fish and was surprised to see it wasn't overly big, about average size for the river. i didn't get a photo of the leader after the fight but it was extremely frayed, a slight tug could probably snap it. didn't get an individual photo of the fish as i was in a hurry to get home for tea. but i did get a photo of the 3 fish caught.

was a very nice session though and will definitely be trying this hole again.

Cheers Sam

haha. pretty much mate. me and carp have a love hate relationship. good fighters but smell like poop and are a bloody pest. no shortage of them though so might as well go out and catch em
