Mornington Pier squid

Post by Thomas22 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 3:58 pm

Turned up at morno pier at 11am casually thought ill have a few casts see what's the go with squid here. The main pier was closed and the smaller one had a tone of people jigging for squid on it they all used large coloured jigs and no one was catching.. so i went somewhere quite and used a transparent jig that was small.. 5 minutes two decent sized squid.. then bloody sammy the seal turned up!

here are some pics! also does anyone know any other good land based/kayak based spots for squid around mornington/mt martha?

How'd you manage when it was so windy today! Or does it not matter if its forward wind? When ever I went jigging on a windy day the lure always end up half a hundred metres to the sides by the time it reach shore, that or knots to my braid :< Looking forward to friday and sunday :)
