Recent Fish, First Poster
Hi All
Been doing a fair amount of reading on this site recently (mostly freshwater native posts, some priceless information on here, love your work Truedogz) and thought I'd post up some fish I've caught here in the south west of Victoria in the last few months. All caught and released using lures. Actually thats a lie, the blackfish were caught and released using worms. Very rare fish down here, recent genetic testing has shown they may be a separate blackfish species and are now restricted to just three populations. The bass is also a very rare fish down here, most likely farm dam escapee.
Cheers, Tim

2kg Hopkins River bass. The one bass I've caught from here is bigger than the dozens of estuary perch I've caught

Welcome to the forum, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

The browns were generally from the Hopkins or Merri but Mt Emu Creek goes well too. The year round open season on the first two has been excellent this year.Sinsemilla wrote:Nice work mate and welcome!
