Well one could be forgiven for thinking " be wary of the night time fishermen " re the bad guy from I know what you did last summer but in a real world being alone, stationary, and at times for hours on end makes us vulnerable to a degree. And even if the fishermen defended themselves against a ratbag they'd be the ones in trouble with the law.

And what you said is correct!!!
Very silly system.

However best way to get out of it just say drugs made you do it. Lol everyone else gets away with it

1000 lumen head torch and sharp knife. I have an excellent knowledge of anatomy. Quick stab to the femoral or swipe over the brachial artery and said assailant quickly loses their appetite for violence. Used to carry a 9mm Beretta in South Africa for protection fishing at night. Not an option here but anglers use knives.
Never turn your back on a stranger, even if they seem harmless. Assume the worse and be alert and ready to act.

Deal with the fallout later.
