Advice on storing boat
Hi guys new here finally bought a boat 5.1 cruisecraft 166 raider 1980 with 115HP Johnson year 2000 ocean series.
Two things- It doesn't fit into my garage and I have two options, dig out the garage 12oomm back further and shore up so it fits in garage or buy a boat cover and store outside.
I am about 500m from southern ocean so get sea mist often and a heap of rain. Any advice would be great also anyone who knows anything good or bad about my new (old) boat
Cheers fellas

If your garage is enclosed with a roller door definitely do what you need to do to get it inside it will be much better in the long run if your able to do it, personally never been a fan of storing boats outside under covers or tarps just my opinion

Re: Advice on storing boat
Does your garage have a rear roller door? If it does you can add on a small carport at the back and enclose the walls with cladding so your boat can be pushed back far enough to close the front roller door and that way its all enclosed out of the weather. Can make as big as you like.

Sea mist and dust will still get into your garage (especially if you have a roller door), so you'll probably want to cover it even if your storing it in there.

Dlock, your storage issues aside,
You will have a great time in that boat, excellent model and parentage, they punch way above their weight.
The 115 sounds about right on the back, great boat...........

Thanks for the replies fellas I think I'll try and get it under cover in the garage, make it easy to prep boat night before and keep gear in the boat a bit more secure.
