Hi All,

Just bought a boat and joined up. Looking forward to fishing the east side of PPB for squid and whiting can anyone give me some advice on a place to start?

Cheers
Geff

Hi Matt,

Probably Moridalloc or Patterson Lakes.

Boat is 5.3m.

They are both pretty good ramps...and with a boat your size you're not limited in PPB at all. If your going to head out from Mordi, go into Fishing Fever and ask where the fish are biting. The reef off Parkdale (Pinnacles) has all sorts of fish biting at the moment.

Hi Geff,

Drifting over weed/reef patches in anything up to about 5-6m of water anywhere from Mt Martha to St Kilda will almost always get you a squid or two. Whiting are a bit harder to find down that side of the bay, but I have come across them from time to time in similar areas......I usually head further afield for whiting though.

Cheers, Ian
