Hey Guys!

I just got back to Melbourne . I went on an epic road trip with my dad and a few friends.

the route we took was ,
Melbourne --> Coober Pedy -->Tennant Creek --> Darwin --> Kakadu

4000kms one way. making that a 8000kms return journey. We drove through some beautiful landscapes and fun times were had!
Was an amazing experience driving all the way through this beautiful country and was keen to catch a saratoga, given that they are indigenous to the region. I have caught barramundi before , hence the toga was my main target for this trip.

I fished some of the billabongs inside Kakadu. The place is teeming with wildlife!
Roos, Wallabies, dingos , pigs , buffalo, snakes and the salties.

I had a good number of saratoga on the ultralight gear. Which was amazing fun!

I then switched to little zman 2inch paddle tails, in white color.
lightly weighted jig heads. This proved to be the best lure for them . Slow rolled and twitched them. They were all over them.

I used a squidgie prawn , punched out next to a lillypad.
Producing this beauty.

My Genblack was far away from the urban fishing it is used to , but it performed admirably.

I also had a few Archer Fish as a bycatch!

The Bites were non stop and I only had to move to a new spot to be on the fish again.
Every fish was released.
I saw some massive Barra in the snags , but they were just not feeding. Apparently , lack of rains has put them off the bite for a bit .

Back to fishing the CBD!

True adventure at its finest.

Dont forget your sweater :p

I highly recommend a trip like this !
Its a lot more about travel and adventure and less about the fishing :)
Adds special value to each fish! :)

They are a great fish to catch. All the ones I have hooked have got aerial in a spectacular way and usually throw the hooks.
Well done.
