Was fishing in the nt for most of april.

Basically drove to the gulf and put the boat in on the carrington river.you need to take all your gear in your boat with you and organize fuel to be dropped off for you at certain places during the trip.

Its a fair bit of organizing , dangerous , very tough but highly rewarding.

On this paticular day I was on a island abt 77 km out from the mainland .I had been stranded on the island account 35 knot south easterly winds for two days.

I was on the protected side of the island so I was safe and in no danger and I knew a few of the indigenous land owners and I asked permission to put my swag up on the island account I had slept in the boat for 2 days.

I was fishing in abt 2 meters of clear water and floating the boat along the protected side of island abt 5 to 10 meters from the edge of island.

The bottom is filled with massive rocks and the fish like barra, queenies, coral trout, rock cod and gts hide under the big rocks waiting for there tucker.

On this day the fish were smashing my lures every 2nd or third cast..sometimes the barra would fight over the lure in a frenzy.

I lost alot off big barra account I couldnt hold them out of the rocks...and when braid hits rocks it doesnt last long...and.alot of the fish were just to smart for me

Over the day I would landed at least 40 nice fish though..the lures I use are hand made for these condictions but they still get ripped apart and alot have to been thrown away...account dont swim anymore or hooks puuled out ( I use barbless hooks mostly)

I kept a few fish for the locals and released the rest of course.

I fished the same area the next morning for no fish !!
