Barra on the bite

Post by Tyler » Sat Oct 11, 2014 1:27 pm

After fishing Night Cliff pier for donuts 2 nights in a row decided to book a barra charter with Darwin's Barra Base.

Got picked up at 5am and made our way to Shady Camp,
Just the scenery there is amazing but the fishing was one of the best sessions I've had in a long time.
Trolled the incoming high tide for most of the day then moved up and fished the fresh for the last part of the day.

Ended up with 15 fish in the boat, 14 on the troll and one on the cast, dropped maybe 5-6 one of which our guide said would have given the 1m mark a nudge.
Biggest fish went 56, 57, 57 and 93.

Awesome day all up. Safe to say I'll be back to do it again.

I'll throw up a few more photos when I get home and sort them out.

Anything silly enough to take my bait really haha, decided we'd buy a couple of rods and some bait and go wet a line.
Everyone around us seemed to get a few we just lucked out, made up for it yesterday though.

Hard to mind with a view like this though.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
