I will be over in WA awaiting my grandchilds arrival. I will be at Floreat, and have heard that the beach is reasonable for surf fishing. Anyone had any experience of that area?
Will need to buy gear over there, and am assuming standard beach rod etc.
Any help would be gratefully received. :water:

Re: Floreat
Hey longbob, im based in WA and floreat drain (north side of it) does well for tailor, 30-50cm even the odd 75cm tailor, lots of herrings/whiting and the usual mulloway (some schoolies 50cm-80cm) and the monsters 1m+
10ft rod minimum if you want to sink a bait, lures work on sunset for the tailor, but the best bet is sinking a bait an hour before sunset and bagging a few tailor and throwing fillets out after sunset a spot of mine just down from there produced about 40mulloway (all schoolies, biggest being 80cm) over a week last month.
Oh, and use mulies
