magnetic island fishng of the rocks

around christmas time me and my family went to visit my nan at magnetic island and whilst there, i caught some good-sized fish. i caught a golden trevally that was about 59 cms a mangrove jack about 42cms and a sweet lip we got snapped of a few times.

Terrific spot that. I was there last August, walked into a dive centre and for just 10 bucks was fitted up with snorkeling gear to use all afternoon! Entered at a couple of beaches and was spotting heaps of fish on the reefs, including a juicy looking coral trout just 20m from the beach.

me and my uncla got snapped of a ton of times bye some fish on the rocks i caught a small blacktip and it cut my line an hour later my cousin hooked the same one hook and all if there was a big coral trout that close to the beach wich beach was it because i've got relatives there so when i next go up there i can try and catch it!!

if you go there for a holiday and you don't want to go on a charter stay in picnic bay see if you can see any fish around the jetty if you can try there through the day and 1 hour before sunset go to the rocks on the side with the railing and use squid or prawns i've found that their is sharks so you keep getting cut but on a metal lleader and catch the shark and then it will leave you alone.
