Well as some of you may know I am heading out on a fishing adventure for my 18th next year and have been deciding where I wanted to travel, the decision has been made myself my dad and 2 of my uncles are heading to the pointy end of Australia found a mob that quoted us at $1140 all expenses bar food and boat fuel for 5 nights! So excited and cannot wait! The price includes flights, accommodation, boat hire and anything else we need! Now the question is what gear to take :D

There's some info for required gear on the link above (if this worked)
My partners cousin lives in Bamagah (about 40km south) follow the link and read what gear he uses.

Re: Destination: Cape York
Interesting read there, have a 2-4kg nitro with 2500 strad for estuary, 10-15kg tcurve with 20,000 spheros w/ 60lb braid and looking at buying a 6-8kg nitro + Shimano sustain 4000/6000 haven't decided yet which will be for sight fishing and barra so should be set in that department, and that quite interesting because that is where we will be based for the week HahahaGrowlermz wrote:viewtopic.php?f=85&t=10572

Re: Destination: Cape York
Awesome mate you'll have a belter of a trip! If you're going with the 6-8kg nitro, get a 4000 sized reel rather than a 6000. Also, I had a sustain and as soon as it was put under any pressure, the drag stopped making any noise when line was peeling off the reel. Apparently this is a fault with a lot of the sustains (well according to the guys at tackleworld anyway). It doesn't affect the reel, but I love hearing the drag sizzle so I got rid of it and replaced it with a biomaster SW. Amazing reel, can't fault it
