Trout fishing stats.. 2000-2017
** Though this may be of some interest to the fisho's on the site..... This is what keeping a diary is all about, then on top this I also do a write up on the rivers & catches of every river I fish each trout season.. always great to look back on..
Adrian's (meppstas) Trout Seasons 2000 – 2017
Here's my stats since moving down to Tasmania back in March 2000. The first 4 years were a little on the low side (catch rate) due to me getting to know the rivers and where I could get in and fish them. After that and getting to know several farmers, land owners and the purchase of a pair of waders the fishing really went up from there on. Having access to many more sections of rivers and wading them really opened up some great fishing seasons for me from then on that's for sure.
Cheers
Adrian

That's impressive!
The trout must be feeling a bit relieved now that the close season has started.

Re: Trout fishing stats.. 2000-2017
Many thanks for the impressive stats and the many very enjoyable articles on your outings plus, of course, some really great photos along the way. You have really worked out how to regularly catch the trout in the areas you fish and that is a lesson many anglers never seem to learn. Thanks again and am sure I can speak for all of us that we wait with interest your exploits next season.

Some very big numbers there Adrian, well done, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Those stats are very impressive Adrian.
It's great how you keep a record of your catch like that each year.
Well done on another great season!

Re: Trout fishing stats.. 2000-2017
Now you've got the new knee Texas, hopefully you'll be back wetting a line very soon... Take your time with it though mate..
I'm already bored as ever, we've had some rain that's given the rivers a lift too... going to be a long three months I'm afraid..
May have to get the salt water gear out and brush the cobwebs of them..
been around 11 years since I've fished the salt water not that I forgot how to fish salt water, just seem not to do it through the closed trout season..
cheers

Re: Trout fishing stats.. 2000-2017
Impressed by both the catch numbers and the diligence you have had over all the years to track and record your catches. Thanks for sharing!
Are browns the primary trout type released in Tasmania or do they just adapt significantly better than rainbows in the wild rivers?
