Merimbula
Board Walk - Merimbula NSW by Tucsonmr2, on Flickr
here i caught my first fish for the year 2014
Mallacoota
Here i went fishing with a Local guide Kevin Gleed. http://www.wildernessfishingtours.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it was the worst day to be on the water in coota, the wind was howling really bad, but we soldiered on. He taught me things about plastics (mostly what i know anyway) the stuff he used though was substandard according to me (some plastics that i never heard of and jigheads thats were too heavy for bream, But he mentioned that he is using them that heavy so we can target both bream and flatties) hook was a bit too big for bream too but regardless we got onto some flatties about 40cm and few half the size of that. a tailor also took a fancy to one of the plastics i had on. he was around the 25cm mark, i seen another one come out of some snags and had a go at the plastic taking the tail part with it
we drifted over a Flat when the fishing strated getting really good, at this stage we were using vibes and he taught me how to use them and i missed a few good fish cause i didnt strike hard enough, then came a good bream for me , second one for me on a vibe.
a trevally also gave me a run for me money, somehow i said No when he asked meif i wanted a pic, still not sure why i said No lol...
it was around the 22ish cm.
From there headed down to Lakes entrance, the ciunningham arm near the bridge was full of weed so headed down to Lake Tyers, same story there too much weed but threw a vibe in anyway, got a massive hit as i was deciding to c all it quits but the fish pulled the hook.........
Left there and drove straight home, so after 2300odd km of driving up and down im pretty knackered. but one thing for sure its one of the best places to fish, go down there if you get a chance it really is worth it...
cheers

Re: Purple5ives South Coast Trip
Hardcore is an understatement here
these guys had slimy mackeral BIG ones in inflatable pools and had a whipper snipper motor mated to a custom housing which they used to pump fresh sea water into the pools to keep the fish alive
