Bermi Marlin
Finally the team effort got there
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: Bermi Marlin
Well done mate looking at the picture with the J Hook in the mouth and the skirt on the deck I guess you were trolling lures?

Re: Bermi Marlin
Yeah we were trolling. Caught a strippy and a bonito. Had a couple of yellow fin take a look at the lures. It was slow going. Went out to the seamount in 2000mtrs. It was dead out there. Saw the yellow fin on the 1000mtr line. Spent time there. Just the strippy. Another guy cubed there all day for zip. Headed back to the 12 mile and saw a few birds and seals looking interested just inside the bait hole. Did a couple of circles there and was just starting to head towards the 12 mile. Then bam, zzzzzz and we were on. It really fought hard. Took about 400 MTRS of line on the first run. Finally stopped it and started backing down to get line back. With about 100 MTRS to go it came up and jumped. Then took off again and we were back to square one. After an hour we had it back close but every time it spotted the boat it dove down and made it a real pain to position the boat. I was driving. Hour 30 and we had the leader in sight but it kept going under the boat and taking a few metres of line. Took 3-4 goes to finally get the leader. Another 15 and it was onboard. Still went nuts when we had hold of it, but we got there. Wasn't a huge fish at 75kg but it sure had a huge fight in it. We got a bigger fish to the boat last year in 30 minutes, but lost it just as we got hold of the leader.
