Re: Merrimbula/lakes entrance
So today we started off by having a nice breakfast down at the waterfront cafe. The food and coffees there are great!
After that we hit the road and went down to check out Pambula river. Stopped at one spot but didn’t feel like having a fish there so kept on going.
We turned off the main road and hit a dirt track and then onto an even narrower road which lead us to a small car park.
From there it was a 500 metre walk through some forest area which then came out to the river and what a beautiful place it was! There were groups of fish jumping out everywhere which I think might have been good size mullet? Not sure. I waded out to have a closer look but each time I got close they would take off.
We only managed to catch one small flattie there
It was such a beautiful place we stayed there awhile just taking in the scenery and relaxing
Next time might head down a bit further as I saw an awesome looking spot down close to the rivers mouth.
On the way home we decided to hit the surf for a short fish and got onto some big sambos again. All salmons and no tailors this time. The big ones came on hard right before dark. Was a great session but we didn’t keep any this time. Was a catch and release session!
Never get tired of that hit from a truck sambo with the reel screaming!!!
Tomorrow we are off to lakes. So I guess there will be more to come.
Cheers,
LX.

Might be new staff now. They weren’t too bad at all with the service. Even gave us a map and told us of a few places we should fishsmile0784 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 6:33 amFor bait there ok.Lightningx wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 9:13 pmNot really mate.

Off to lakes today but we are going to stop at Eden first, and check out the wharf and then might try Bemm river.
Any tips there?
