A SIGN OF HOPE FOR MACCAS

Post by Paulanderson » Wed May 24, 2017 3:56 am

A Macca stocking project in the Retreat River in NSW has shown a rare sign of hope for Maccas with the stocked fish now breeding naturally for the first time - see http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-05-22/m ... ss/8547470 Lets hope that the Ovens River Macca stocking project also results in a breeding population.

That's great news. The last time I had caught a Macquarie Perch was about 35 years ago - released it. It was in the Latrobe river. Never seen one since. Such a nice looking fish.
