Another good spot up that way is the Merrica River in Nadgee, -37.296032, 149.950659. It's roughly a 5k hike in, with absolutely no facilities, but the fishing is the best of everything. The river itself hold Bass in the fresh, Mulloway, Bream, Trevally (huge!), Flattys (huge!) and most other estuary fish. Off the beach and rocks are all the usual suspects as well as shark and crays.
Heaps of wildlife too; Dingoes, Scrub turkeys, Lyrebirds, Bandicoots, etc...
