Big gav n lil Luke's kyalite trip 2016

So the car is packed! Luke finishes school at 1:30 I get paid around 3 -.- but look like I'm getting rained off which I great!

Thanks to all who helped me out with the checklist I'm confident it's all there!

For those who don't know kyalite is just over the border from swan hill n will b camping along the Edwards river! My club goes up annually n always bring back great reports!

Unlike the Eden report I'll try to update this thread daily but given the reception up there don't expect it!

Goodluck... my grandfather used to make the trip to the Edwards River .. seen photo's of his with some huuge cod from that region

Arrived safely at 7:30 pm one pit stop at hungry jacks and only half a tank of diesel!

Upon arrival Luke was greeted by another members grandson also 10 years old and they hit it off! We set up camp (well I did) and I finally cracked a well earned beer!

Stayed up drinking so was up at gentlemens hours today got some shrimp n headed to a likely spot, Luke has shown me up so far with his first cod and two silvers! I've been busy re tying rigs and losing a spinnerbait -.-

Kind of reminds me of when I first started taking my missus fishing. I wouldn't have time to fish. All I had time for was re tying rigs and casting the rod for her lol Hingis are very different now

Always the way gav when you fish with your kids I remember those days with mine more time rigging than fishing but it was time well spent

Back In melbourne!

Saturday we fished the wakool in the morning for 5/8 of f all and at lunch headed to swan hill got food beer more bait and lunch! Stopped by the big cod for a few photos headed back to camp for a quick bite to eat then got an invite in a mates boat! But for no fish. I also hit the water at last light for a single hit on a kola bung cod walker

Sunday headed out in the same boat but this time headed upstream trolled for 2 hits and no hook ups baited up and the skipper managed a mirror carp I finally got a silver first and only fish for the trip! And then me mate gets a nice healthy 45cm cod as we r looking at it my rod buckles over I throw the fish back grab my rod onł to have the fish spit the hook then Luke looks at me laughing telling me I threw my lip grips in with the cod -.-

Monday packed up and left long ass drive home and will happily return again next year! Only spent about $400 on this trip -.-
