Fishing over the SA border

Hey guys,

I've got a mate with a holiday house in beachport which is just over the border of South Australia. We were discussing a fishing trip there sometime during the summer and I was wondering if anyone had fished the area. A bit of reading has beachport as so-and-so for boat fishing and it looks quite shallow in the bay. A look further north, robe has a much better reputation.

Has anyone fished these areas and know what it's like?

Been a while since I was over there and I was surfing more than fishing then. Beachport is a lovely little place. I did notice south of beachport is a place called Carpenter rocks and there was a lot of good size boats there and the ramp was very busy. Might be worth looking into that area too. The town itself is not particularly pleasant though.

Fished robe over 3 weeks now, we fished the shelf when possible ,there were a heap of trevalla around 8-10kg as well as some albacore and gem fish so if u have electric reels its worth a go. A few snapper just outside the bay to 5kg their should be a few around still and that's pretty much all we caught. Good luck on your trip cheers Aussie!

Don't have any electric reels but one day I will haha.

Mostly I think I'll be targeting snapper, whiting, Mulloway and kingfish.

Can't find any reports of kingfish being caught around beachport at all, but looking at navionics there looks to be some nice reefs that have gotta hold em. I'll probably be heading up there in December.

How was the Robe boat ramp? I hear the beachport ramp can cop sand and wash

How was the
