Rod snapped at Butt section
Hi folks,
I managed to snap my Majorcraft Egi rod (Imported) at the butt section while Kayaking on the weekend.
Long story short, it got caught between the kayak and the sand whilst retrieving the yak. (My own fault!)
I'm no expert with rod repairs, so just wondering if this is repairable and where you would suggest taking it to get it fixed?
Cheers
Jon

Re: Rod snapped at Butt section
what you can do is take it to a rod builder and get a custom end cap put in with weights, then you can balance the rod back to what it was or better with adjustable weights in the back..
might not be the same but better than forking out for a new rod
cheers

Re: Rod snapped at Butt section
or you can just a bit of wooden dowel rod and slide and glue in into the top half up about 5cm and then glue the bottom section on till then meet about 5 cm, then put glue over the 2 joins
and if you want to make it look nicer just put some black electrical tape over the join
mite not be perfect but cheap repair

Re: Rod snapped at Butt section
Either what purple said or get a carbon fibre sleeve glued over the top of the break from butt-reel seat section. The new weighted cap would be easiest though
