can my Daiwa Labrax AGS be repaired?

Post by kingdaiwa » Sun Apr 15, 2018 1:33 pm

Hi All,

LTFFTP (Long Time Follower - First Time Poster)

I broke the top section of my Labrax AGS rod while trying to yank a fish onto shore. To cut to the chase, Daiwa wont repair this rod as they claimed it was misused and thus voided the warranty.

Anyhow, does anyone know if this is repairable? The breakage is about 30cm from the bottom joint section as seen in the pic. The model of the rod is 106MH.

Thanks

I don't think so, not even with tape or cable tie, ;-) cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Possibly repair it with a splint but will screw up the action. I would try to get a new section through daiwa at your expense

To fix I use a Carbon Fiber/Kevlar Archery Arrow say about 3 inches long-Yes It does screw up the action a bit-depends were the break is-but if you have a $300 plus Rod so be it.
