Too much hardner or maybe too thick an application. Bit of clear sellotape and a hair dryer will stop the water getting in. Im too tight to pay for repairs especially on what is not that expensive a piece of kit. Funnily enough I have just been putting a new tip ring on my one although its now technically an 862 rather than 902. :-D
Cast, catch and put it back

Had a look at the rest of my gear and 6/9 rods have at least one guide cracked. None as bad as the catana but it looks like user is to blame. Most cracks are at the tip of the guide foot. The guides have possibly expanded in the heat.

Lesson learned.

i wouldnt worry too much about it mate.
just put some clear nail polish to seal it up and off you go.
its a fishing rod and albeit a cheap one at that, id run it to the ground and buy another one after.

If you want to secure it, get a bottle of flex coat epoxy or threadmaster, they are the one i use and look for long setting or high build. Mix 1 to 1 ratio, coat the guide just to be secure. Or if you are in south eastern suburb, i can rebind and recoat them.

If you decided to do it yourself, remember to rotate the rod when they are about to drip until they set.
