There is a mob in South Australia called Rod Works , who do custom rods as well as rod building components. Might be cheaper on postage, plus Fuji used to do full kits for Samurai blanks 001 002 003 etc Good luck with your building

Trial fit...surprisingly easy. I know i must put the winding checks before i fix the thing but with build as easy as 1-2-3, am i missing something?

Lesson number 1 - if you have multiple epoxy tubes in your tool box, make sure you don't pick up and use the 5 min epoxy on rod building.

The lower section of the rod is now in drying station (a.k.a. my wife's flower pot). I will start wrapping the guides on the other section later today and I should be good to use the BBQ grill rotisserie tomorrow.

Looks like an awesome butt/blank combo. I Iove the black and cork contrast. What thread are you planning on for the guides?

Taking shape.

Guides will be installed tomorrow. The fighting butt of the rod in the photos is still not fixed as i will use that end to attach it to the rotisserie. Winding check and fighting butt are the last to be installed.

Love the progress pics! The serious rod builders, I'm guessing they have an alternative to the humble rotisserie...as in a lathe or something similar worth mega $$$$?
cheers
