Lake Eildon - Jerusalem Creek

Just booked the a campsite at JC for just a night this weekend. Taking the Mrs and her cousin camping, hopefully wet a line while i'm there.
I'm a complete knob when it comes to freshwater. I have a handful of lures that have caught F-all except for rust and some soft plastics. Should i change the hooks over(i.e. is it worth it?) or shall i just get some worms and corn and soak some bait.
Looking at previous reports, trout and yellas and reddies might be the target? Hell i just want to lose my freshwater virginity. I'm assuming i'll be land based and the camp grounds look reasonably close to shore and there's also a Marina nearby.

Appreciate anyone's responses

Fairly limited for land based up that end mate .If you are starting out I,d forget the artificials and stick to bait.
Scrubbies on the bottom and give a small Yabby a try for Perch ,Reddy or Golden, Mudeye under a bubble would be better but this may take bit of time to pickup if you haven,t tried it before.
Good luck.

Go down to the boat in the morning at sunrise and flick lures. Lots of trout rising there when we launched the boat from there the other day. Other wise stick to bait if your landbased

Thanks for the tips everyone. I have to postpone the trip to JC because i just got an email from Parks Vic saying they've closed the campsites due to storm damage....
Oh well, if we go the following week it'll be after the cod opening. ;)
