Some lakes not stocked for school holidays!

Post by Rod Bender » Sat Jun 27, 2015 1:28 pm

Hi all
For those that take the kids fishing on the school holiday...some of the usual lakes have not been stocked. From the DEPI site:
Note: Due to water quality issues Jack Roper Reserve Lake, Rowville Lake and Seagull Lake at Geelong have been temporarily removed from the school holiday stocking program. The lakes will be restocked when water conditions improve.
For full details of stockings, check the DEPI site.
cheers

Thank's Jim, those would be a few of the more popular lakes around the holidays, seagul paddock used to get about 800 per holidays which was quite substantial for a small body of water and if you saw the water at Jack Roper you would be sick, lol

People still fish jack groper! I doubt it holds anything but carp but apparently the carp are pretty big in there
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Seagull Lake looked pretty dodgy last time I was there, I can imagine it needing a cleanup and it would be good if it was cleaned as it would be a nice lake, there are some big carp in there though, and I have caught trout in there but that was at least 18 months ago.
