Williamstown Gem Pier Able fishing
We went on a charter boat with Able fishing from Gem Pier on 11th Oct.
they took us to aorund 8-9 km out in the bay West side.
We caught a lot of flatheads, most of them under size. Also got some small Salmon, one small
leopard shark.
We were bit frustrated as we thought of cathching Snapper.
Able fishing guys were good. They were very helpful .
Looks like no snapper this side. They went down the other side. Good luck.

Fail charter operators, that's the second report I have heard on here of **** all fish.
Lift your game and do the research and find fish for your customers. To be honest charter operators are starting to become parasitic, apologies to those that do the right thing but not to find any snapper this time of year is quite poor.

Saw the Melbourne Fishing Charters boat come in at St Kilda pier the other night, and they had plenty of snapper. Nothing massive, all around the 2-3kg mark at a guess, but lots of them!
I have a voucher to use with them, so just organising a group of people to come along and we'll make a booking. Can't wait.

if they give you gear with 2 or 3oz snapper sinker and drift they are most likly only looking for flatties tell em to pull up anchor up berley up and **** the lead of we want reds
Re: Williamstown Gem Pier Able fishing
Considering some Charge $150 per person and want a boat load minimum of 6-8. That's a huge profit. They should have a no snapper money back guarantee. They advertise snapper, then you should get snapper. If people drop them off their lines etc, thats ok, its the thrill in catching them and you can say they were there.

Not that simple. Profits are large when boat full, going out, fish biting. Try running a boat of substance when no one going out. The $ have to last the year. Further. There is no guarantee on snapper. I've seem lots on the sounder, swapped baits and watched none bite.

Still if they will charge that kind of pricing, they should be more responsible and do the necessary "research", to at least half satisfy their customers with a snapper or 2, or even some nice whiting or flathead. They should not be in the game if they can't perform.
