18th present

Post by GTSHoon » Sat Aug 09, 2014 1:10 pm

My 18th birthday is coming up in 7 months :woohoo: and my mum has given me 2 options either a big party or a charter for my dad and I up to $1500 each, obviously I chose to go on the charter but I honestly don't know where to start looking hahaha, so the question is where would you go/what charter would you go on if you were in my position?
Thanks for your input :Bar:

If you can get up north to the barrier reef or Darwin - organise something up there. It's absolutely unreal and better than anything down here!!

Definetly worth looking at packages up north, but you might find you wont get much 'bang for your buck' with 1.5k each, up north. When I stayed in Arnhem land a few years back for a fishin trip, it was just over 1k per person per day. That was before the chartered flights and transfers
When I got time,
I wet a line cos Im a junkie,
been fishin since a kid,
I like it cos it numbs me..

For $1500, I will take you LB fishing chasing big snapper for 7 evening sessions, max 6 hours per night from Sept 1 to Oct 31. Tackle and food provided. Free ride home from fishing location to your place. All you need to do is show up and reel in the fish. The ride home alone costs over $100 a trip if you will take a taxi. Additional sessions after the 7 is free provide you bring your own tackle and bait for both of us.

Bonus: Free ride from my place to the fishing location which should cost you $80 on taxi.

Additional person gets 50% discount.

Hahahaha sorry FC, may go out after something a bit more exotic however a few snapper trips are in order once the weather warms up a bit,I really do like the idea of fishing darwin/gbr/Arnhem land as well so I have some really fun decisions to make, or I could go out on reel time/think big multiple times so yeah a lot to think about, them again I'm certainly not complaining!

If you're into your trout fishing you could catch a plane to Christchurch, hire a car and fish the rivers around there. That would be up there in my list!!

If I were in your position (and haven't checked prices) but I'd do one of:

Day with a guide in Tassie chasing horse bream

Or

Chasing bone fish on Christmas Island

(Might have to chip in some money for the second though !)
