Is that a $1000 reel?
Damn, I just bought myself a $100 reel, which is the most expensive reel I've ever purchased.

I wish it was $1000...

Haha yeah it’s the most I’ve ever spent on a reel by a long way too. Makes the tiagras seem cheap.....

So, finally got to test this setup on a marlin yesterday. It was a ripper. Drag was a dream it was so smooth, and the rod has a hellova lotta guts. Not totally sure what I had the drag up to but maybe 8-9kg at one stage.

Didn’t bother with a harness and knocked over a 120kg stripe in about 40 minutes after he dogged deep for a bit.

The triceps are a bit tight today though!

If it holds up to a 120kg marlin must be good buy.

What do you prefer...the new spin or an overhead?

Easier to fight with an overhead, (when you are harnessed up), but way easier to pitch livies with the spin, and when chasing a fish down its easier to keep up with winding.

With the harness adapter I’d say the spin will win for stripes.

I think for bigger fish (big blacks and blues) I’d definitely want the overhead though!

The arms were getting tired after 40 mins on the fish that’s for sure, and I didn’t go too heavy on the drag cod I knew that would tire me out quicker than the fish
