Thought I'd try one of these new wax wing shimano lures. They reckon they're the ducks guts. We'll see.

On sale at BCF? Saw them a few days ago and thought about trying a couple but then realised I have too many lures. Not sure which forum I saw it on but someone, somewhere had a pic of a good trout captured on a waxwing! Any particular fish you are after with it? I thought I had seen them somewhere with a 'w' hook instead of a treble. That can easily be changed I guess if you don't like trebles.

Yeah BCF. Thought I'd give it a crack. I'm thinking trout, reddies and maybe Yellas.

I too have too many lures, ask my Mrs.

I'll let you know how it goes when I give it a whirl.

At the moment though I'm mainly chasing Cod on bait.

Just bought this and a Daiwa rod along with a reel that I'm waiting for.

10b Braided line to go with it.

Going to test my lures on this new setup and see how it goes. I've had trouble flicking lures with my other rod. (Not designed for flicking)

Will try them on land and on the boat, flicking and trolling.

Let you all know how it goes.

Sexy new Daiwa Ithcy Twitchy. 1.5-3kg. with a shimano 1000 reel. Gets christened tomorrow morning.

nice light rod! Hope the christening goes well! I have made some purchases over the last month but haven't got around to putting them up yet. Strange thing but with me I find when i'm not catching fish - expenditure goes through the roof! Have to do something i guess!

The rod was $149. The guy at the shop said they're making heavier ones in the same style, right up to 20kg. Might have a shed full of them soon. Beautiful for flicking lures.
