whats the depth of the basket? and is it a heavy net allround?
looking for one for the boat for ages, all i have seen have been too heavy for my tiny wrists

nope didnt see a shorter model the basket is 38cm wide and about 23cm deep its not that heavy if i was you silstar do a really good one which would be ideal for boat use light and has two different heads to choose from one the standard notted mesh and the other rubber (squid) they have big heads which would be good as you fish flinders where the bigger squid are

Why do you want a telescopic net for your boat steve?
It's not like you need the additional reach and I can't imagine storage being a big issue.

They're handy af on the piers though

just a shorter length one not telescopic, although even if it is telescopic it can be used shortened anyway.
