Abu Garcia Cardinal SX20 w Berkley Attack Combat Series rod

Post by FirelineFanatic » Tue Jan 06, 2015 6:57 pm

I picked up an Abu Garcia Cardinal SX20 (2000 size) reel yesterday paired with a 6'6" 3-5kg 4pc Berkley Attack Combat Series rod. It's a really nice light, balanced setup, and for the money ($99) it seems really good quality. Was just wondering if any one else has experience with either this particular rod or reel. If so, what do you think of it?

Well I've been out 3 times since then chasing redfin in the local lakes, haven't caught anything yet, although I did have a few missed strikes and a couple of follows. The reel is incredibly smooth so far and the rod is nice and light and balanced. It is a thin rod, but has a fair bit of lower end strength (I got snagged a couple of times so was able to give the rod a bend test). So far I really like it. We shall see how it holds up.

Caught a heap of reddies on it and I'm pretty happy with it
