Stockyard Point

Post by Toady king » Wed May 31, 2017 12:42 pm

hello, ive gone to stockyard point a few times with my mate and everyone tells me about how, 'on shallow tide you can get into a really deep channel', but i'm looking at google earth and can't seem to find where the deep channel is. i know you need to fish the point, but where exactly is the channel. I'm planning on going out on saturday night so if anyone is keen to fish it and wants to show me in person that would be very helpfull haha.

This is landbased FYI

Was gonna head there today. I'd rather fish during the day than night. Don't want to get bogged lol

You can see the difference in water flow, Saturday night : low tide times 1:45 pm Sunday 2:28am .
With an early morning low tide . I sometimes do the running high as well -after . Big squid heads on, use sand gutters( low points) couple sticks in the sand to secure line and walk the rods back to high tide area . Have a bonny and wait . Have caught snapper that way. :a_goodjob:

It's ot bad at night, never had trouble. Just stick close to bush, infact my mate and I have walked in the bush and reckon it shaved off 10 minutes haha probably not best at night tho because of snakes
