Quick Lang Lang trip.

Post by Brett » Wed May 03, 2017 8:30 pm

Decided today was a good chance to hit Lang Lang, with a late high tide of 1.7m and little to no wind, it gave a chance of a late elephant (at least that's what I was after), as I can't catch anything else lol.

Finished up work early(god I love my boss), so got there around 3:45pm, to an empty foreshore. Picked my spot and got setup, rods in the water by 4.
I wasn't expecting a lot, then at about 4:15, my rod starts bouncing around, I look up and see a small gummy jumping clean out of the 40cm deep water I had cast into. He put up a fair fight for his size, but once I realised he was legal length it was goodnight.

Pretty happy with my outing, seeing as it's been around 5yrs since I caught a landbased gummy, hopefully it's the start of a bumper season for a change.

Long time coming, going to make it taste even better.

Amazing just how shallow gummies will come to feed. You can do a huge cast there and still be in less than a meter of water at high tide.
