Firstly may I ask, are luderick good eating?
Secondly I'm keen to try flicking afew plastics there. What size jig head would suit?

Yes, luderick are delicious - better than bream, to my mind. I used to fish for them with greenweed in East Gippsland year after year - they're a great species to target - unbelievable fighters! The biggest fish I've landed went about 47cm, but I still remember battling what must have been a 55cm+ fish in a snag on 6lb line - we almost had it in the net before it took another dive, and ping!

the jigs i use are 1/16 or 1/20 with a no4 hook (just cause there are small fish there)
small grubs, or gulps is what i use. Be prepared to lose a lot of gear until you figure out the area!
