leatherie fillets cooked on a bbq with a little garlic butter on them are the perfect fish bites. I usually get at least 20 leatheries a trip and usually only takes an hour to get them. they are usually a big size. kids love them as there are no bones.

also like them deepfried but as its not a real healthy option I only do this when ive caught some calamari as well. they usually hang out in the same grounds. so I throw a baited squid jig out the back under a float and continue hooking the leatheries whilst waiting
