Hi guys. Looking at fishing gunna on Saturday late arvo. Where the life saving club is. Where are the best holes to target and what poppers or lures are successful? Cheers

Decide what you want to do, lure fish or bait fish?

If lure fishing then walk along casting as you go towards Cape Schank and you may find the fish. Bait fishing means sitting in one spot waiting for the fish to come to you.

Gunnamatta can be like this, let's say you arrive at sunrise, and spend a better part of the day there and not catch a single fish, so you pack up and as you are heading home, other fishermen arrive and bag out in 30 minutes.

Or you arrive just as people are leaving with bucket loads of fish, and you don't catch a single one.

Thanks Wolly,
Well that can happen. All we can do is try to get into a hole, burley up, and go on the right tide. Its blowing a northerly today so just deciding whether to still go. Down at gunna the wind should be behind you with a northerly I think?

I will be in the area and fish the high tide. I like what I see in the surf cams
