Hi all, todays Sun paper in the fishing report has said Salmon being caught at Gunnamatra surf beach to 2kg...all of Melbourne will be there Saturday..lol...

I see the high is only after mid-day, I'm pretty clueless but is it a good idea to start fishing early in the day (at quite low) and fish into/over the high? Or start around 9-10am and fish over the incoming tide?

It is never a good idea to fish early on a cold morning specially if it is low tide but if the fish is around, they normally bite early in the morning and late in the afternoon. When the sun hits the water they go deep and far. If you are baiting, you have all day to enjoy the water.
